Sounds maybe like an alternator problem. Your car starts okay despite these problems? Try being more specific

Check Engine LIght on...

Had all the brakes repalced and one rotor. Possibility this would trigger the check engine light?? I checked all fluids..OK
Temp gauge and oil pressure gauge fine.

Any ideas?/

I did notice the battery is jumping from "R" to "O". It is 3 years old. Would the light come on for low battery??

Thanks.

Take it to advance auto and they can do a battery or alternator check

sounds like your car is undercharging. Go with what breakout said. Have them check your alternator, and the cables, if those check out alright have them do a test on your battery.

u can check the alternator your self by starting the car and then disconecting the negative battery cable the car is supposed to not turn off... if nothing happened go to a shop and get your alternator check and every other electric things like cables and all(it can be somethng loose)

the cel usually won't come on for undercharging. The cel could be for a number of things. Best bet bring it to a place like advanced auto parts that does free obd II readings.

this puts a high load on the alternator. if there is a problem with the alternator, this will probably do it in and youll have to get a tow. Just have advance auto check it in the morning

Your alternator will not throw a light until the amperage output drops below 3.5amps thats the bare minimum to keep the car running and keep your battery from going flat. i know this because i just did my alternator this morning it was putting out a measly .5 amps at 2k rpm so it was fucked. you can test the alternator your self and all the corresponding circuits very easily in under 15 min with a volt meter. and of course the directions for the pinpoint test. i used the ford TSB and service manual cd i downloaded i tell yah the thing is as good as gold and 10x better then a Haynes manual. on a positive note my head lights dont dime when my stereo and blower motor are both on any more and a new heavy duty alternator set me back 280 bux with a 2 year warranty. watch out for the top mounting both tho mine was stuck and i snapped the bitch off luckily it was easily removed with my figures after i got the alternator off.

+1 its a real bad idea cuz the pcm will freek out if you do that because it uses the battery to take the reading and thus regulates the voltage accordingly. the voltage regulation is done in the pcm with the 99+ i asked my mechanic yesterday when i went for a second opinion on my alternator.
