question about runnin a tune
so i got my tuner last week (SCT powerflash x3 thing of AM) and have been runnin my 89 octane performance tune.... im very eager to try my 93 octane race tune.. here's my question, With me being a daily driver and puttin a lot of miles on my car (127xxx already), would runnin this tune put too much stress on my engine and damage it in any way?? thanks for the feedback

First off, are you auto or stick? And as long as your not constantly on the throttle I don't see how it could hurt. You're just going to be spending A LOT more money on gas if you use 93 as a DD tune.

Nope, you should be just fine as long as your engine is in good condition and isn't giving you troubles. But before you go uploading that tune, run your tank low and fill up with 93 octane. Then drive through most of that tank before refilling with 93 again (at which point you can upload the tune). The first time I tried to run my 93 octane tune, I didn't do that and ended up having quite a bit of 87 still left in the tank. When you mix 2 different octane fuels, you end up somewhere between the two octanes (there's an equation for it, but I don't remember it).

Just take good care of your engine and she should be able to take a little beating here and there no problem.

Here it's only a 20 cent difference in octane. 20cents x 15(?) gallon tank =3$

Yeah it's not really that much more expensive to run a higher octane. Plus you're generally forced to use a higher quality station so the fuel lasts a little longer. I know Shell is my favorite place for 93 octane.
