New Stereo?

I just purchased 2 MTX subs in an enclosure for my 2002 mustang. I was going to put them in my trunk when I was told I need to put in a new stereo in place of my stock 6 cd changer stereo. Is this correct?

If your gonna use the stock cd player with an amp / subs you need a "pac adapter"

you can hook your subs up to the rear speakers with a wire that came with the amp, it wont sound as good though as if you were to get a new headunit and run rca cables, your best best is to go to crutchfield.com and get a inexpensive headunit that comes with everything you need for free....send me a pm if you want some more info or help with any of this stereo stuff...i've done like ten different set ups and all my friends cd players and subs so i can help you out a lot and save you some money

If your looking for sound quality then you need to start over....

4ways in the rear = NO
6x9's in the rear = No [this is a mustang not a caprice classic...]
3 way 6x8 up front = Ok, but NO

Sell it -

You can keep the 6x8s in the front
You can get some 2ways in the Rear

Put an amp on them, and then get a good 10 or 12 for the trunk.
