sure that is the right tool for the right radio? I know some of them have the holes on top and bottom. sorry, not familiar with the casset versions.

Push the tools in until you feel them "pop." Stop at the point. Pull them both outward (toward their respective side of the car) and slowly pull the radio out. A little wiggling might help. I found that my Alpine head unit is 10x easier to remove than the stock radio/cassette player and cd player were.

i did, but i had it out once because i put in a new head unit, but it sounded like crap so i changed it back out. now i need to take the center of the dash out to fix a rattle, but i can't get it out without taking out the radio and cd player

had the same problem, just push them in until they really cant go in anymore and yank away (try not to brake anything).... when I was taking mine out I just cut up some wire hangar and bent it to a u and shoved it in, but it wouldnt "pop" either so i just kept putting them and and pulling wiggling side to side and it eventually came out.

He's got a 2000 so it's got 2 single dins instead of 1 double din. The radio/cassette player has 2 bolts under it that attach through the trim and the cd player doesn't have any bolts.

Once you get one side out, put a screw driver or something between the radio and the console to keep it from going back in. Then work on getting the other side out. It's tough, but you just gotta keep trying.

i finally got it out, although it broke in the process. i am getting a new radio next week. but after i got it out i figured out you can just take that whole front panel off and take it out that way . oh well lol, i kind of like not having a radio, it makes the dash look so simply and kinda racecarish.

You dont need no tools to take the radio out. I just changed mines last week.

Just pull the whole center trimming out and the radio will come out with it attached. Then once you get the whole front panel out you can un hook the tabs on the radio behind the trimming to slide it out and slide your new radio in , then place trimming with new radio back in

Took me 5 min..

To unhook the trimming just use a flathead and carefully pry outwards around the trimming to unhook it.

EASY takes less then 5 min. I dont know why people do it the hard way.

Update: I just saw u figured it out.lol
