strange ticking noise

id post a video but my phone sucks at recording sound so it would be useless. recently ive noticed a ticking noise under the hood at idle up to about 1250 rpms. its consistent so at first i though either and injector or a sticky lifter but once i rev the motor a little higher and hold it there it seems to go away. its not an exhaust leak i know that much. any ideas?

How do you know its not an exhaust leak? Exhaust leaks tend to "go away" at higher RPM's.

maybe it is but i know i have one (i can hear it and this new noise) but maybe its a combination of both?? it sounds like its coming from the top part of the motor though

Got a stethoscope? You could pin point exactly where its coming from with one of those.

But honestly 9/10 ticking noises that "pop up" end up being exhaust leaks, just going by what I have seen. I mean I have had my car for a little over a year and have had 4 random exhaust leaks pop up.

Is it coming from the passenger side? 9/10 times its an Exhaust leak and that 1/10 times it'll be a sticking lifter. I had a lifter sticking. I fixed it then found an exhaust leak.

If you find out that it's not a lifter sticking i'd look in to your passenger side exhaust manifold. Our cars have a tendency of these leaking or even cracking.

Lol well the passenger side has more of a tendency to break that the driver's side.
