my E brake! Oh no.
It quit working.. It's decided if its going to look good without the dents and bad paint, its going to quit working. SO..
I pull the E brake handle, it clicks like normal, Is kind of hard to pull up like it should be, But the brake doesn't engage, I'm kind of worried about this. I'm pretty sure the cable is done for, But any other advice would be good, Or prices of getting the cable fixed? |

If you have the car in neutral with the ebrake on, can you push the car and get it to roll? I'm thinking there's a problem with the cable or the rear brake pads are worn down to nothing. Get the car up on jack stands and have a look at the cable. If it looks alright, pull your rear wheels off and check the brake pads.
And for the time being, just throw the car in 1st or reverse when you park it. Having it in a law gear will keep it from rolling away (generally I throw it in gear even with the ebrake on).

First check the easy way. Put it in neutral, apply the parking brake and try to push it. If it doesn't move, don't sweat it. If it does, pull the rear wheels off. You should see a cable coming up to both brake calipers that hooks in to a small lever. This is what's used to manually apply the brakes. Verify that it's hooked in. I wondered why mine didn't work and it said the brake was on all the time, and it turned out the PO just unhooked it for whatever reason. Now if it's hooked in and you're unsure if it's working (using the same push-roll test as before), you can pull the caliper. When you rotate the little lever the cable hooks onto, you should see the piston apply. If the caliper operates properly, then and only then is it your cable.
