Tires my friends.. Tires.

They make or break your car's Power.. And Reputation..

They Put up, Or Shut up..

They can cost 35$ for a Used one,

Or 500$ For a Brand New one. "Racing tires.. Etc."

My Stang' is running low on Tread, Which isn't good.
Because when I try to put some power down, I spin my wheels;
Even when I'm going 13-16 MPH.. I can floor it in First and Spin a Wheel, Sometimes Both.

And one day, When a Honda Civic, With a fart can.. beats me because of Wheel spin and bad tires.. I'm going to cry.

Hell, I have a 400$ Budget for tires..

I cant go over by a penny, And I'm planning on getting them next month;

Any Advice for me? Keep in mind, I have a V6 with Gutted Cats, And An aftermarket muffler of some kind, Its too rusted to tell. Lol

SO im not running huge horsepower, Just a bunch of Little Horses running around in there..

Anyone have a good Brand of tire they like for a Set/Install 400$ Or Less?

Nitto Nt-05's are the best tire I run that was a performance tire.

However finding ane set of 4 tires for under 400 will be tricky.

The info we need is:

What size tire are you looking to run?
Are you on staggered rims?
16,17 or 18 inch rims?
Do you want a two performance tires in the rear and some cheapo's up front?

on my v6 i run riken raptors on...they're cheap for a 225/55/16 and last a crap long along with gripping the road well...my GT has nitto 555's...great summer tire but last winter sucked soooooo bad lol.

no need to make a new thread just for that question..

@skargon...nothing wrong with not wanting to go over 100...its stupid on the street when the speed limit never goes up to there in 99% of the country. when i first got my GT i was still in my retarded im invincible stage and put it up to the limiter at around 145ish....lights in my rearview way off scared me shitless...i was lucky and caught an exit using backroads to get home..i always follow the limit now because i almost fucked up my driving record for some fun

Oh don't worry, you're not the only one. I'm not so concerned about my own safety in a car, but other peoples' safety. I really want to get a bike and my whole family seems to think I'm going to get it up to 120+ and wreck but honestly I think I'd be shitting my pants at 80mph. It's one thing to go fast in a car where you're protected, but out in the open on a bike..

I run Bridgestone blizzak 225 on my stockies in the winter, they do pretty well.
Summer tires are currently BFG T/A KD 275/40/17, the fronts are KDWs (little higher treadwear/less grip).
The KDs have pretty amazing grip, I can't even chirp second lol

Falkens suck, they just don't offer good wet traction or treadlife but what do you expect for $63 a tire. Tires are important and cheap tires are a safety hazard because if you have no traction you have no brakes, and if your hydroplaning your not stopping.

I'm running Yokohama AVID ENVigor (H&V)'s in a 245/50R17 size and they are spectacular, I never have traction issues in the rain even when I drive aggressively, and I have plenty of dry traction. They are warrantied for 5 Years or 60,000 Miles and the reviews speak for themselves. You can get a full set of 205/65R15's shipped to your door for just under $400.

The downside of having a wife and catching the mod bug But really, you need 2 extra budgets now. The obvious mod budget and the "keep the wife happy" budget. It's important so that she doesn't start withholding sex

The Sumi's I had were horrible when it came to hydroplaning. On AM it says they're rated like 7.1/10 for hydroplaning resistance but in a moderate rain at 70mph, my rear tires would occasionally get up on top of the water and the rear would start to kick out to one side or the other. First couple of times it happened it scared the shit out of me but I eventually got used to it and could keep it under control pretty easily, but it was funny as hell when people would ride with me during a storm and they would be clinging to anything and everything they could
