1st time i've had to post something in here in a while! But here's the problem, so whenever you open your door, the dome light would usually come on, correct? Well, mine does not do that. No idea why. Secondly, my dummy alarm for when i leave my lights on doesn't come on either. (the light that goes off when you turn your car off and your lights are still on, and you open your door) Any ideas on wtf is up with it? Did a fuse blow or something? or is my car just messed up.

i would check the fuses.

Midway down the door in between the hinges there is a plunger/switch that should line up with a bracket on the door pillar. That is the door ajar switch, could be broken.

All fuses looked fine.. I'll add that my passenger side turns the dome light on, and my drivers side doesnt. and my light dummy alarm doesn't come on at any time. i think my car had a stroke because only one side of it works.

But seriously, no idea why it's not going off? The key alarm whenever i leave my keys in and open the door doesn't go off either..

like, when you open your door with your keys in it, it will set off an "alarm" or a ringing noise, same with if you have your lights on.



NEW PROBLEM HOLY GOD MY CAR DID HAVE A STROKE.

So, i looked at all the fuses, but them back in, and then i had to jump my car because i left my lights on last night. and no my ABS light is on, and i can't turn traction control on! Dear god it's just a boat load of problems on my car happening today.

maybe it actually did have a stroke... like half of the cars ecu is fried or something? or maybe a ground problem.

The driver's side door ajar switch is a common problem on all cars. Which door opens the most? The driver's door. Re place the switch its simple.

As for your ABS light check your ABS sensors.

Hey man, sorry i did not see your post, must've read over it. Thanks though, that actually helps a lot. Don't get so worked up about it

Yeah, its the door ajar switch, mine made it so that it though my door was always open (think how annoying that got) I sprayed the switch and hinges with WD40 and it works fine. As for the ECU problems, double check all the fuses are completely in and in the right spot (and still good) since you checked them all. This time just pull the fuses that are related to the problem though. Have you tired taking the battery off the terminal for 20 mins and seeing if the problems re-set?

If not I'd imagine it has something to do with the jumpstart, my friends BMW fried some modules after he had to jump it.

Tried taking the door off, just for the hell of it, and can't get it back on Kind of pissed at myself because i dented my fender in the process of closing my door when i got it back on. Now the door is back off and i'm waiting for help to get here to get it back on right.
