Changing fuel lines

Hey guys, just wondering how hard it was to swap out fuel lines on our cars, I was taking my girlfriend home last weekend and heard a knocking noise that sounded like hollow metal hitting something, so I pulled over and looked and didn't see anything so I figured it was the crappy exhaust the PO put on. Anyway to make a long story short, the bracket that holds the fuel lines in place broke and the fuel line was hitting the driveshaft and it knocked a hole in it, how hard are they to replace? Should I try and do it myself or just wait until next friday and let a shop do it?

if your inexperienced working on car and dealing with brake lines and fuel lines etc. you should take it to a shop.

I guess it depends on how much the shop is gonna charge...I'd just do it myself.

Could u not just cut out the broken section, buy maybe a foot of new hose, and then connect where u cut the part out with the new hose, a couple of fittings, and a few clamps?

absolutely if you want the fittings to blow out under pressure. Thus creating a new problem.

If you are going to replace the fuel line go bigger or go home. Get a braided stainless steel line, get a new fuel filter and go from there.
