Call the dealership and specifically ask them if whatever youre doing will void the warranty. Write down the guys name you talk to, the date and you can even go as far as asking his supervisors name. Cover your ass! If they tell you its fine than make sure you document it so it cant come back on you later. That way if they tell you its ok to do something, they cant as easily go back on their word. Asking for his supers name will also get you a more "honest and thought-out" answer instead of some half ass guess by a phone jockey. This way your not guessing and hoping for the best. You know what you can change and what will void the warranty. Remember too, each dealership may interpret the terms of the warranty differently. What one dealership says is cool, another may say no. Thats why you should call or stop in (where ever you could potentially have warranty work done) and see them. If your warranty is that important to you, you need to protect it.... I always say, can you afford to pay to have it fixed once you do something that voids the warranty??? Better to find out before you mess with something than get stuck later with a car you can't afford to fix!
