Help Realign door!
I'm not going to go into full detail about what was going through my head, because honestly, i have no idea lol. I wanted to see how easy a door would be to remove in case i wanted to paint it. (paint is chipping in the middle of the door and all over the sides.) So i got the door off easy, but i can't seem to get it aligned right so it will shut without hitting the front fender when i'm trying to put it on. Do any of you have experience with this? or am i SOL and have to take it somewhere to get it put on right.
*edit* yes i know, not the smartest idea i've ever had

Are the hinges attached to the door, or are they still attached to the body? Did any shims drop out when you unbolted the door? Did you remove the fender before removing the door?
Normally the order of reinstallation is doors, then fenders (loosely), then hood (adjust fenders and tighten at that time). When installing a door, worry about getting the gap between the rear of the door and the quarterpanel correct first. Then adjust the front of the door to get your body lines correct. The front fender can then be installed.

Use the aforementioned process, but here's a few tips and tricks:
They sell cradles for floor jacks that help you adjust the door placement when the door is open. Makes life a lot easier. If you're hard pressed, just use a wooden block or make a cradle for it. One of the old tricks I saw and couldn't believe; they left the top hinge a little loose, and whacked it into place with a hammer and 2x4, the board being placed lengthwise against the hinge. It worked great for getting very small movement. Seemed a bit crude but I couldn't argue with the results.

If you want to take things apart again, mark the hinges with a pencil. It will then be easy
to get it back where it goes. |

I didn't take the hinges themselves off, i took the door off of the hinges. There's 4 big bolts that attaches the door to the hinges. But that is good advice though! Thanks man.

Then while you're at it, you can cut a hole in your roof, raise the back seats and get two girls in bikini tops to ride in them.

1 person in the car? What's that shit about? When I turned 16 I could have as many people in the car as I had seat belts. Hell, I stuffed more than that into some of my vehicles. I had an 08 Eclipse for a while and I had a buddy who always rode in the trunk after school because he was always the last one to make it to my car and all the seats were taken
