REAL bad spark plugs

I did my spark plugs in my GT less than 5k ago so I figured it wouldn't be so bad to do them in my dads v6. We have had the car for 80k and never touched the plugs.
Recently he was having a misfire code for number 3. First I changed the plugs and wires on the drivers side. Next, went to the passenger side and started in the back at wire 3 and gave it a few good tugs with the wrench (no differently than the other side) and BAM! FML

Plug seemed like it was already cracked. Anyone have any tips to help with this? Or are we definitely going to have to just pull the head?

I know there's a trick to getting that out without pulling the head, but I don't know what it is... hopefully a more competent wrench will chime in.

If it didn't snap off flush with the head or inside the head, you might be able to get a small pair of vise grips in there, clamp on, and twist it out. Otherwise I'm in the same boat as Rev. I know there's a way to get it out without pulling the head but I just can't remember how

I don't think vices will work with how close it is to the head. I wish I could just get a drill in there. My dad said there are a few things he wants to try before we result to pulling it...

Yeah pulling the head isn't fun. I've busted my knuckles open quite a few times tearing my engine down

Really? I'm just not familiar with the v6. If it was my GT I wouldn't be as worried about it.

if you dont wanna pull the head ....NAPA makes a tool that it was designed for the 5.4 motors that had the problems with plugs snaping off in the head the tool is about $60 and isnt that hard to use but you just need to go slow.....
i would try that first befor you pull the motor apart
