is k&n the way to go with a cold air intake

im getting a cold air intake tomorow, the guy there is pressing the k&n, i know they are a good brand but is it the way to go?

I agree--- I have the FIPK. Performance is fine but maintenance is a bitch. Its tedious to take off and clean. Plus GF and 97 know their shit... ebay will save you sme bucks.

I bought mine before I started hanging around here. Had I known what I know now, I would have never bought a Mustang... IM KIDDING!.. I would have never bought the FIPK for so much money. I got ripped off.

K&N isnt the same either, they use a different material as well for the piping
trust me anyone who says they're all the same but had the chance to choose between and ebay intake vs K&N you'd be crazy if you picked the metal ebay intake over it

but JLT is the best CAI made

all the air in the JLT pipe has no where to go. its big and all, but your intake can only handle so much.

But JLT is serious. they do have the best stuff. you wont see nothign like 30hp but it'll shoot more then any other CAI

and I did say get a JLT when you get to serious modding.

bolt ons don't count.

i guess i should of clarified that post. lol. i guess ill get one for the 97 i have. I got a beat up 97 from ebay like a year ago or so and im in the process of getting around to modding it whenever i get a minute or 2. I actually had it for sale in the classified section awhile ago. still for sale if anyone wants it...
