1. Basic hand tools should do the trick. Did the headers you ordered come with new gaskets and hardware?

2. Possibly. Just understand that they're not going to match up to your existing exhaust system so unless you have a short midpipe ready to go, you'll be running open headers until you get a mid pipe and install it or have a shop re-fabricate your existing system to match up to the headers.

3. You should get some small gains over shorties and they'll sound MUCH better.

Also,

Too easy... helps to pull the brake master cylinder to allow a little more room... first things first.... REMOVE YOUR OIL DIPSTICK OR YOU WILL BEND THE CRAP OUT OF IT.. REMOVE THE BOLT ON THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK AND JUST PULL STRAIGHT UP...

like mcqueen stated you will need a new midpipe for these to fit your exhaust, and they aren't too too bad to put in, one side was much harder than the other but that was something like 3 years ago im not sure what side it was but again not horrible. And they sound amazing nice choice.

I think there's a bolt on the head as well (there was on mine)

Probably the passenger side. I think there's less room to work over there plus the EGR tube is on that side.

I don't see any reason to lift the engine but I have heard they're tricky to get into place. You'll be fine to run with open headers but don't be surprised if you get pulled over because you're going to be loud lol. And no, you don't need a lift but I can see it making the install easier if you had a midpipe and all to go with the LTs. But for just the headers, you can easily get away with just using jack stands.

Since the engine is bolted to the k-member, I imagine you could achieve the same results by simply sticking the jack under the k-member and raising it up a bit if you need to. I personally would rather have the jack under the k-member than putting the weight of the engine and suspension on the harmonic balancer

I did it on jackstands, took maybe 4 hours?
Didn't have to jack up the engine at all, although did have to disconect the driver's side steering shaft to manuever the header up in there.
