you will feel the difference...i went from my stock to Cobra R in Chrome 17x9s with 275 40s front and back and you can feel the extra weight...but it looks good...then you just make up for the extra weight with more power

let's say you get bigger rims, but tires with a lower sidewall, so that the outside circumference of the tire is still the same as it was with the old rims....you know what i mean?

yeah you will need to re-cal the speedo ford can do it. and weight and more rotational mass is what causes the speed offset.

sorry fallen... but it your overall tire hieght stays the same you wont need too

ssstang = correct

you could go 275-285 if you wanted to... mine are 245 on 8 inch wide... but for a 17 inch rim you want 45 mm sidewall

k well, if my speedometer reads faster than i am actually going, that will actually keep me from speeding even more when i see a cop and look at my speedometer. but if you keep that problem of your speedo reading 1.5mph faster than you're going, aren't you putting extra miles on your car that you shouldn't be?

the rims/tire/Sizes that I'll be using would be 255/40z on 17x9's all four corners(obviously)

haha, thats what i like to see, noobs helpin noobs..(well thats what it says under your name"label thing") thanks FL, that site actually shows alot and supports to a legit reason of speed and an answer for this thread/forum/subject.

in case n e one wants to know...
stocks = 205/55R15

my 17x9's = 255/40R17

another thing...

a pop up came up telling me that a 3%change from stock rims to another set of rims could be subject towards brake malfunction or something like that. has n e one ever heard of such things? i guess it could happen?but i just would like some feedback?...or does this subject deserve another subject thread?...idk-prob not since im typing it already?

We are putting the same amount of miled on the car because its the same distance trevelled, regardless of the speed you do so at. And also a 17x8 isn't gonna cause any brake failure
