v6 tuners running on 87?
Any 05-09 mustang v6's using a tuned CAI that's programmed to run on 87 octane? If so, what gains do you notice hp and mpg wise? thanks in advance!

We just answered this question man lol. Besides, in this forum you won't find many 05-09's, we're mainly all SN95's and New Edges here.

It's essentially the same thing. You will see better gains, than our 3.8's but honestly it's not THAT much of a difference in HP and MPG's. You'll notice the HP, but as for the MPG's it's not anything that's going to break your wallet. It's not like you're installing a 4 barrel carb on your car or anything like that lol.

D-Reck, I'm not sure where you get your gas but if you're just buying it from any old place, look into purchasing high quality fuel. Shell, Exxon, BP, places like that. You'll pay a little more but you'll get better gas mileage. My car could pull 260-270 miles out of a tank of Shell 93. And then I could fill up at some cheap ass station like Murphey USA (better known as "WalMart gas stations") and barely squeeze 220-230 miles out of a tank.

For a daily driver, tuning to 87 octane has a lot of advantages. Most tuners come with this as an option and you'll still see some gains.
Higher octane allows for more spark advance. In terms of fuel mixture, a tune will provide similar benefit no matter what octane you pick. The fuel mixture gains are decent. A bigger gain is not shown in peak hp and torque. Changes to the fuel table can also provide better throttle response. A good tune will "wake up" your car. I think this is what I like best about them. Good luck!

As far as New Edges go, i wouldnt use anything higher than 87 unless you have forced induction or heads/cam.
as for 05+ the 93 Race tune from bama kicks ass.
