time for new spark plugs, any suggestions?
My car has 36,000 miles and i think its time to change the spark plugs and maybe wires. Im only getting 20 mpg with the street tune in. Whats the best plugs that are not overly priced? thanks

I'd just stick with the OEM brand (Motorcraft) that came on your car. If you're going aftermarket, make sure you get copper plugs, and please please please do not get Autolite lol. Since you're not running F/I or Nitrous there's no reason to get anything different.

@OP...hard to see you needing plugs & wires at only 36k miles...my GT had 94k and from what i can see plugs and wires are OE...my old v6 was 70+k miles and had the original plugs & wires...and my current v6 has 46k miles and has the original plugs and wires...pop yours off and look at them...check the gap...so on and so forth...up to you really if you need to change them of its not the plugs start checking other things like air filter, fuel filter, and other things of that nature |

Autolites are actually pretty highly recommended for our cars.

Bah, you can ignore half the crap auto parts store employees tell you. I've found it's pretty rare to find knowledgeable employees like 6er. I believe those guys go through training to try and sell you the most expensive parts possible. I was actually talking to an employee at Advance Auto one time when I was picking up new bulbs for my headlights. He mentioned something about some crazy expensive bulbs (very unenthusiastically) and I just laughed and said the ones I grabbed were fine. Then he told me how he'd just gotten back from some training thing and he was supposed to push for customers to buy more expensive parts rather than the parts they prefer.

i just changed my spark plugs for the first time at 123k
i went with bosch copper plugs.. i've put about 500 miles on them, i havn't noticed much of a difference. My old plugs didn't look too bad for not being replaced for a while.

the guy i talked to when i went and got my plugs was cool. He had a 95 sixxer that he swaped a 3.8 super coupe engine into it, then his plans changed with it and it's sitting in his garage until he can afford to build it.

6ER, You're cooler than the other side of the pillow. That's pretty damn cool.
