Lets try this again...

Well, I tried to ask questions at Stangnet, but no one wanted to help a new guy. Let's see if mm is any better...

Why is the C&L CAI and SF3 Tuner (05-09 V6) $100 more than the JLT CAI & SF3 Tuner (05-09 V6)? Is it $100 better? Better filter or something? New to this and don't want to blow 100 bucks on something when I could invest it into another mod. Thanks.

I would be willing to bet it's no better and they just think you should pay more for a C&L sticker than for a JLT sticker.

He has an 05. They don't make a "cheap" CAI for those like they do ours. And some of their CAIs require tunes. They see a little better gains than we do.

from what i've read the quality of the JLT kit is worth the $100 on an s197...i'd just pony up the rest. i don't know if it's how the tubing is made (higher quality material maybe) or the design, but it seems to hold up better

Thank you for the quick responses, looks like I'm here to stay. The JLT is actually the cheaper one, so if I get a CAI it will be that one. I already have dual exhaust, so what would you recommend for an 05 V6? I hear nothing but good things about the tuners from AM. The budget it $650, so what do you think is my best bet?

SCT is generally recommended. Most dyno tuning shops tend to use them than Diablo or smaller companies. I personally have an SCT SF3 and it does everything I need it to and more.

Also, welcome to MM

No biggy, happens all the time The 05-09 section doesn't get a lot of traffic so those guys tend to post in our section so they actually get answers to their questions

Oh I will. I'll probably make some 4.0 specific vids for the CAI installation.

Just be aware that the 05-09 section doesn't get a lot of traffic for some reason so sometimes answers take a little longer. I'm not sure why our S197 V6 members generally don't like tech threads
