removing guage bezzel

I read a write up but it didn't address how to get the stock head light pull knob off. What the FRAK! Clues?

If you look on the smale portion of the knob there is a slot there. Take a small screw driver or pick and push the metal tab toward the rear of the car and the knob will slide right off.

I was able to get it out. Thanks for the suggestions! Love the hammer idea. I almost resorted to TNT.
