Is this a deal on springs?

So on craigslist i found 4 03 gt springs for $20 with like 33k miles. I have a 98 v6, he said they will work on my car. Idk if they are any stiffer or anything but my springs squeak some anyway when i go over bumps? Is this a deal? i mean its pretty cheap so idk. i would thing $5 a spring wouldn't be bad but thought id ask.

gt springs are made to handle v8 weight. they will be stiffer and raise the car up. unless you cut them.

You're going to get half the forum saying that cutting the springs is dangerous, cheap, etc and you're going to get the other half saying it's fine. If you want to cut them, it will save you some money and there are plenty of guys around here that run cut springs with no issues.

i had a friend that cut the springs on his Dodge Colt. Ended up breaking one going down the road. You'll sometimes get a very bouncy ride (ever see those super low Hondas boucing down the road? yea) Might not handle as well as compared to buying real lowering springs.

the real question is why are u buying the springs in the first place. springs themselves dont squeak. no/bad spring isolaters cause squeaks. bad/worn struts and or bushings causes squeaks. even worn sway bar bushings cause squeaks. u need to find where the squeak is coming from.

throwing money at a problem isnt going to fix it, unless u are in a strip club trying to get a boner
