lowering/ wheel question
Ok, So im going to lower my 2001 stang like 1.5 inches. I currently only have stock wheels. At some point I want to put 18" rims on it, svt's, fr500's, or something. Im worried that with a 1.5 inch drop and with 18" rims that I will rub, do you guys think ill have any issues??

no. i did the dibach pro kit with stock wheels and stock size tires. the tops of the wheels were flush with the fender. I put 18s with 245/40s on and now i have about 1 1/2" clearance from tops of tire to fender.

nope it won't, unless you got the wrong offset and/or wrong tire size

yeah, cut the stock springs with stock shocks and it will do that every pot hole or so, however If you cut stock springs and run stiffer shocks it won't

Youll be alright, may have to roll the fenders in the back for the tire if you go wider than stock.

No need to roll fenders unless you go over 305 in rear, which is completely pointless on a v6.
Check my garage for pics. I have Eibach prokit springs (lowered 1.75" compared to stock measured at the side skirt). Also run 18" Fr5's. At full turn it will rub slightly, but you can buy rack stops for $10 that will eliminate that issue. I also had to customize my driver side fender well by removing the part that sticks out beneath the washer fluid reservoir. Riveted a flat metal plate there and it solved the rubbing issue on that side. See garage for entire mods list.

Really is gonna depend on what width you go to and what tires you run on 'em. If you stick to a close-to-stock OD tire and a close-to-stock-width, you'll be fine.

I have 295s rear and prokit... I had to roll my fenders... Rubbing issue was pretty bad back then.
