GT 65mm TB on V6 stock intake
Hey guys,
Can a 98 GT 65mm TB bolt on to my 03 v6 stock intake with no/minor mods? If there are mods to be done what would it be? Would custom fabbed TB spacer work? I have a new(er) engine in my sixxer and still have the old one complete. I'm planning out the port and polish project but I'm also looking into either boring out the stock or picking up a used gt tb. Thanks. Adryan

You'll be needing to relocate the Iac and flip the tb upside down.... so yeah alot of modding needed.

I have a BBK 65mm TB If you want it. It just bolts up to the manifold perfectly.
My car is a 3.8 V6 2001. I didn't feel like adjusting anything to get the right TPS volts..because well...I don't think I really know what I am doing..lol. Throw me a price If you want it, it's like new.No bolts though. Christina mangogirl205@yahoo.com |

^^^ Hey Mangogirl... I'm picking up my other engine from my engine guy's shop and bringing it to my machine shop/turbo(sc) guy's shop tomorow. We're still looking into what we're going to do with what we've got on hand before we do the heads and intake port/polish project. I had a gt tb for 30 bucks looming online but he just replied that he got rid of it. You probly won't like the numbers I'll give you... Also, since I'm not too keen to inheriting the issues you were having with it, I'd like to just ask if you could hang a bit and I'd let you know if it's something that would make sense to me. You know what, It may have simply been a defective product. Did you get in touch with AM and talk to the guys there?
One more thing.. ur tag makes me think ur Pinay... am I right??? A

. I did call American Muscle and spoke with A Ken...I think.Anyways he assured me that the products..specially things like TB's very rarely are defective. But for a Tuner or something electronic...then yea. I just think it's something that I wasen't doing right.Matching the TPS and the set screw on the TB so they work together. And I was doing it by myself so I had to go from the hood to the inside of the car to look at the RPM's. I tried to set it with the car on..which someone told me was not the right way. Then tried it with it off and my RPM's were just crazy. And my car was being a turd. So in the end I was scared I might break something...even though the TB is just a big piece of metal.BUT Ken did say that the TB would work better with a car that has a "modified engine" and not stock ...which mine is besides the BBK cai and MSD ignition setup.![]() lol...and yeah ya caught me!...Pinay I am...well half. My mom is Irish and my dad is Filipino. He's from Manilla in the Philippines. Are you Filipino?? Well here's my addy mangogirl205@yahoo.com Just throw me a line sometime, Christina P.S. G'luck with all your upcoming mods!

^^^ Hey Christina,
It's such a shame that it didn't hook on to your ride as planned. Did Ken consider a replacement or did u just get brushed off...... Anywhoo, I did not get a chance to grab my other engine from the engine shop. I'll pick it up tomorow to bring to the machine shop. I did for the time being to take advantage of the 55 dollar CAI sale from AM and it got delivered today. The new engine seemed so starved for air compared to my other one... probly why I broke it hehehehe. One thing though, I am amazed that it only took a few days (ordered friday) to get to me here in Canada... Reps to AM. Anyway, let me get the engine back and see what's up. Yes, I am a FILIPINO. Kamusta. Adryan

Yeah it sucks that I couldn't get it to work.I don't want to say brushed me off..lol, but they stick by their word about TB's not being defective.Never offered a replacement for it so I didn't push it.I am a returning customer and don't want any bad relations with them.AM is awesome and their shipping is fast..I agree with that. Yeah I got the BBK cai..they are nice looking. ..So purdy and shiny. It looks good under the hood too. I am sure you are pleased with your cai.![]() BUT I will say it was a pain in the a$$ to get the filter into the fender. It wouldn't fit so you have to install it from under the car basically. Was yours like that? Well keep me posted on your car. Paalam, Christina |

Lol, I spent a year in South Korea and there are a lot of Filipino people there. I was learning Tagalog really fast and it's kind of an easy language to learn. And yeah oh well

I'm in the Air Force
Being in SK was definitely an awesome experience for me. I went to the DMZ and was literally at the border line of North Korea. It was the coolest thing ever lol. Even though we had NK guards staring us down the whole time . I think those two places would be awesome to visit, I heard that very little American Dollars can get you a lot of stuff in the Philippines lol. It would be awesome to go to Ireland to actually see some grass! (Damn Arizona and your no grass lol)

Hey Christina,
I was on vacay the past few days and I was not too keen on typing on the iphone while lounging on the beach... well, at least not long ones. I figured you were Pinay... not that many mangoes around here. I had/have 2 mango trees back in Manila. I went back there for university (UP) and lived by myself in our old house and and traded the 280zx I shipped home for a '68 Mustang. Loved that cherry red baby. You should take the time to visit... it will be an experience and a half. I got my 55 dollar AM CAI one day before I went on vacay, installed it that evening and I'm loving that chirp, swoosh and throttle response. I didn't get any issues with putting on AM's filter. It was just a straight forward install. I still have my other engine at the shop and I'm still throwing things in the air and figure it out once I get everything dismantled for the & polish job. Doom... alright brother.... knowing Tagalog. I have some friends that I met around school and the neighborhood back then with blonde hair, blue eyes and spoke perfect Tagalog. Surprises the shit out of locals... they were born there anyway and knew everyone anyway. Just to give you an idea of what $1 can buy you... 1 pack of Marlboros, 1 bottle of beer and a burger... wanna know what you can get for $10 lol. Adryan .
