Well didn't end up going for performance at this time. Got the heads and intakes cleaned and machined for $220 for everything.
Rebuild begins tomorrow most likely, still have to hit up Advance for the gaskets, head bolts and couple of misc. pieces. Nothing, not even the head gaskets, was clearly damaged or anything. The gaskets wern't broken at all. The valve assemblies all look good, the push rods are all straight and look fine. None of the cylinders have scoring from piston rings. Besides normal carbon build up that I'm cleaning most of, it looks great for 150k, or any k really. Trying to go gung-ho through the weekend to ger her running, will keep updated.

Make sure the threading for the head bolts is good. Did any of your head bolts come out too easy? If nothing else failed, that'd be something I'd check (Just to be safe). But it sounds like all is good, so throw that bad boy back together and get to driving again!

The head bolts were all bia's to break loose. Was a dumbass and tried a regular socket wrench at first. Broke it swiftly. Also broke an extension for 3/8 drive socket on a different head bolt. They all came eventually with a torque wrench and some good 'ol fashioned elbow grease.
The only real mistake I made the entire time was rushing one day and went to take the a/c line off the compressor. I know, no flaming needed, I've beat myself up over it plenty. Of course I expelled all the freon from the system, and looks like ruined whatever kind of gasket that's present on the back of the compressor where the line connects. At a minimum I've got to get some R134 or whatever the hell it is now (not freon). What else could I have f'd up by doing that? I'll have to research that little gasket, hopefully that's all I'll need to replace.

^ Chances are, you're going to have to bring it to a shop for the A/C. You're going to have air & possibly condensation in the system. Just adding R134 from a can WILL NOT work. You're going to have to get it recovered so all that crap gets drained from the system. Just explain it to them, they'll put it on the machine, and it'll take a whole of 45 mins tops to get it done. A/C is really simple, but not something you can really do at home. Lol

Yeah I figured I was gonna bring it to a shop just to have them check it out, ton of places around me do free a/c checks. Shitty bang bang.
Of course I don't open the Haynes manual til after I did that, cuz most of the stuff I've done before. Clear as day the Haynes says "DO NOT remove the a/c lines". Gee.

Hey, don't worry about it too much. Lol, I just cut mine right off! Literally, cut them right off.. I knew they were empty, though
I'm not a fan of A/C. I prefer my window open. & I drive mostly highway, so I get plenty of cool air in my face!

Yeah I'm in FLA. You sit for .5 seconds you are sweating with windows open. Humidity = 45013%
Dropped $240 at Advance for gaskets and head bolts. Going back tomorrow they had to order spark wires. Getting those, plugs, temp. sensor from intake mani., coolant & oil. Getting to the $550 range total.
