A/C expansion valve how to

I just relocted my A/C lines for future mods. Now I think the expansion valve is stuck closed. Can anyone tell me were it is located and the best way to get to it? Any tips on making it easy

I believe it's in the heater box under the dash and the dash needs to be removed to get to it. The refrigerant needs to be recovered first.

Thanks i found the orfice tube aprox 3 inches back from the condenser in the liquid line. no one had a liquid line so i was able to get a orfice tube repair kit $12.00 .my orfice was pluged and system would not take any 134, the liquid line was trying to freeze up.
got that fixed today, also replaced the dryer as well. will charge in the morning.
dont know what pressures were my neighbor is doing that for me he works for A/C company.
