well when I got to the electro-mechanic he tested the Alt. and he found it in great shape he told me it may be the power steering pump.... where can I get one (on internet or other cheap place) and how much for parts and labor....
I know where I can get one but here at P.R car and parts r wayyyyyyy to over priced

Another possibility is the idler pulleys of which there are two I believe.

It is a pulley and bearing. You could check it by removing the serpentine belt and turning them to check for roughness in the bearings. |

dude check you power steering pump and hoses...the same thing happened to my stang and there was a hose that was leekin all my p.s. fluid and i replaced the hose and that fixed the noise..it kinda sounds like a quiet supercharger which was cool but it sucked drivin it when the hose was bad!!lol

well i didn't have to do anything w/ the pump but it's most likely not the pump and just the hose...they go faster than the pump...but you have to lay under you car on the drivers side and right b4 the firewall(around that area) you should see the p.s. pump and the hoses and check if they are leaking..it was a long time ago that i did it so i don't remeber much but thats basically the area!!

i know i said to do it whenur car was cold but did u have the car running while u checked it? thats the only way it'll leak out b/c there's no pressure when the cars off!

hey the whining noise is not from the pump or alt... idk the name of the pulley in english, is the one that comes from the motor in the middle... yesterday the whining noise also started to came from down the car (tranny) and my tranny is getting bad it sometimes does not wanna get to 5 or reverse (i'm manual)... So when the whine started could it always had been related with the tranny? whats the problem with my tranny, clutch? my car has 115k miles and its been a month since it needs an oil change and it needs the tranny liquid to be change (i think the guy i bougth it from never gave it one. he's the kind of guy that never gives maintance to cars)
