Is it okay to wrap a starter with exhaust wrap?

Is it okay to wrap a starter with exhaust wrap? my longtube headers touch the starter for slightly, enough to produce a loud rattle that sounds like a broken hangar. Im 110% positive thats my source but im not sure if its okay to wrap the starter, i could try to wrap the header but am afraid the wrap would slip down the tube of the header.

I don't see why it would hurt it but i would try and do the headers first and see if that works.

Wrap the header, And use a clamp, Like a Radiator clamp that screws tighter around the Pipe, Im pretty sure you could find one big enough, and it would keep it from sliding down.

No idea why they touch, best thing i can figure is that this starter i have has a big ass on it...matter of fact, i can compare the two. Its a duralast Gold starter thats on their now, used to have a regular duralast. I will compare the two after work to see if one has a bigger ass then the other. unless someone here works at autozone and wants to compare for me.
