JBA Axleback Single Exhaust

I'm ready for a change from the stock muffler on my Stang to something a bit throatier and reasonably priced. This axleback muffler by JBA seems to be just that. I like the sound of it in the sample clip. The local Ford dealer said they could order it for $250, while this site says it can be had for $189. I'm seriously considering it.

Does anyone here know of anyone that has one of these? What do you think of it

I've heard: Magnaflow - Flowmaster - JBA

And so far nothing sounds even close to good.... Its all too quiet

I'm not a fan of the 40s. And personally as long as it sounds better than the stock exhaust then it's an upgrade. =P This muffler seems to be both affordable and nice-sounding (at least to me).

I just got my tax refund check and figure I'll have enough for this exhaust and Roush side window louvers. =)

go with the aero turbine axle back...by far the best sound i've heard for a single. I have it on mine.

here's a clip of what it sounds like.

I love it and would recommend over the flowmaster replacement muffler anyday.

That sounded nice during the test drive. How much is it and where can I order it?

(I wish I could find a JBA test drive vid.)

$225 for it. It's more expensive because the actual muffler doesn't come with a tip and the people at mrt-direct will weld the right tip to go with the muffler for you

www.mrt-direct.com

click on exhaust, then 2005 and up. I love the exhaust. I know you have an auto, but on my manual I noticed my rpms staying up between shifts. With the previous muffler my rpms would immediately drop

Sweet. $225 is only $35 more than the JBA. And it's really growing on me... the JBA vid I found isn't very pleasing... sounds more like a tugboat actually, lol. Check it out here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcKSLTuvCes

But yeah thanks for the vid, Breakout. At high RPMs that MRT exhaust sounds comparable to a GT at high RPMs.

there's no resonator in it...so on cold starts some of the unburned fuel gets caught in the muffler and when i shift from 1st to 2nd at low rpms it makes a slow rumble with a pop (the unburned fuel igniting) like the gt's do. it's pretty sweet. but like i said i love my aero turbine exhaust. I wouldn't trade it for any other muffler. I was about to say i wouldn't trade it for anything...but i would definately trade it for a dual setup

as for the jba muffler vid...that guy took it at the wrong angle. he didn't want his license plate to show. if he would have re-done the vid from behind, i bet it would have sounded better. I did the same thing with mine..and it didn't sound as good as the clip i showed you. I'm uploading my vid now to show you why i shouldn't have recorded it from the side

I went ahead and ordered the MRT aero turbine axle back. =)

It sounds great when listening to the video Breakout posted and this other video I found of it on Youtube:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qkStFJGWY...elated&search=

I'm hoping it'll be in late next week. A HUGE thanks to Breakout for steering me away from the JBA muffler and to the MRT muffler! =D

Yes I remember seeing that pic after the accident. I hope they get it good as new.

Another YouTube MRT aero turbine exhaust vid:

I love that sound. The startup and idle is very GT-ish.

Loud

How loud is the MRT inside? I am worried about highway drone and not being able to hear my radio if I want to listen to something other than the engine. I have an auto. Thanks
