Heres the plan if I keep this thing...

What do yall think?
Start with putting some 3.73s and a lsd on it. Need to fix that crappy traction and 1 wheel peel...
Then get a supersix cam in there. Which one? Lumpy cam?
Then get a good exhaust system on it to hear that cam.
Anything else care to add?

I do know the gears and lsd will be installed if I keep it though. The gay one wheel peel and crappy launch is the main killer point in these.

Nobody false advertised anything, you read it and took it as something else.

Either go forced induction or buy a gt. I have a feeling u won't be happy with anything else.

If you are looking for confirmation that 3.73s and a TLok will help then here you go: they improve straight line performance.

The SuperSix lumpy cam is more about keeping up appearances than performance. I'm not sure I'd brag about going this route any more than wearing a toupe, stuffing your bra, or packing a cucumber in your pants. I won't recommend this cam any more than SuperSix seems to on their web site. Contact them and discuss your needs.

My recommendation is to do the following (if you have not already)
1. Divorced dual exhaust
2. Under drive pulley
3. 3.73 gears with T Lok
4. Windstar intake
5. Professional dyno tune

Good luck!

Not sure where you got this information from, but there was a guy who dynod at around 220hp with the lumpy cam, ported lower, and a windstar upper with no head work. Seems like it'd be a pretty good cam to me.

IMO, the best things you can do (OP) besides going forced induction would be the things you listed in your initial post. Gears and lsd, cam, windstar, and exhaust are really the only 4 bolt ons that I would bother with on these cars.

SSM says on their site that the lumpy cam is for sound only and there are minimal performance gains

Ok OP listen up.

Coming from a guy who just went the N/A route.

I have a 4.2, custom ground cam (probably way better then any off shelf cam for our cars), P&P job w/ a special N/A hint to it (idk what it is), UDP 25%, Windstar upper intake, 8.8 w/ 3.73s, Long Tubes to O/R exhaust set up, #24 injectors.

I dyno'd 227hp to the wheels out of an automatic. Now its was 110 degrees and humid as shit, on a fairly easy tune. Might could have seen on a better day and more aggressive tune 10 more hp. Correct me if im wrong anyone, especially Kyle, he was there to see the AFR n shit.

Now would you like to know how much i spent ? 4.2 from ebay + P&P + cam + udp probably = 2000+ on its own. tune+ LT's + windstar = another 1000
Thats 3000 total. Now we gotta look at history, I spent 400ish on the 8.8 w/ 373 + 375 on the SCT tuner + 75 on injectors + tools and supplies n shit. WELL over 3000 dollars spent. Probably 4000+ spent. Not to include shit like that CAI i bought way back when which was a waste, GT bumper, 1300$ wheels/tires, exhuast, ect ect ect ...

Now we've spent probably 7-8k total on this car. Give or take. Probably give.

But just on the power mods I currently run, had I bought them all in the first place. Id probably say 4-5k dollars.

4-5k dollars for 227rhp

Thats fucking stupid man. For that price I could have Turbo charged my car w/ well over that power, or S/C. And even possible had a forged motor w/ FI system on it. and ran twice that power or more ...
All for the same fucking cost ?

What seems like a decent way to spend your money (n/a) is a waste on these cars ...

You could spend what I did on FI on the stock motor and have much more power ....

So once again, take it from someone who has just been through this ... dont screw with it for the power. If you wanna do it for some sound, sure get the lumpy cam and an exhaust and get an SCT tune from VMP or Tricktuners and go on. If you looking for power. Dont waste your money on FI ...

Thanks have a good day

This being a VERY uncommon case.... Might be a dyno that reads high.

Also:
Mike could have spent like I don't know 5-6k less than what he did, so don't mind his price estimates!

There was another individual who dyno'd at 210. I'm not saying there aren't better cams, but its not like its a stock came with better sound. SSMS does not say thw performance gain is minimal. The sound is a selling point, but the cam is still way better than the stock cam. I have it installed, its bettter.

Use the same $ and buy a V8 block+parts here and there build it your self and put it in, done. Instead of putting all that $ in a 6 and getting less/= hp than a stock GT.
