Vap windstar intake kit

I want this kit and i know its overpriced but i feel like the guy did a good job creating the kit and finding everything for you so pay him for his efforts IMO. But I live in CA and emissions laws are strict. Does anyone have any experience with this in CA? Is it smog legal? Can it be modified to be smog legal? Is it hassle to remove every two years? Thanks for the replys

I don't live in Cali myself, but I'm fairly certain that we have a member here that does & went through emissions earlier this or last week. He said he removed it & put his old one back on..

No not really. I hobbled some of the parts together myself and had most of a used kit and ended up paying almost what I would of to get the whole kit from VAP.

The smog in cali. It's not CARB compliant.
Also, if you have a 99-00 you have to delete the smog pump I believe.

Yeah emission laws in ca are extremely strict. I honestly didn't think te kit was overpriced but I read slit of threads that were ragging on the vap kit. Anyway I think I'm jus gonna make the swap every two years for smog. Anyone who has this kit is it worth it? Especially if I have to remove it every two years?

Yes, it is worth it and would be easy to remove once every 2 years.

I read on your YouTube page you did all your own mods. How hard was the cam swap? Ive only done simple stuff tb cai etc... No ones taught me so im experimenting with my v6 and learning as i go. And I really want the kit if only because it makes the engine compartment look a thousand times better.

Its not extremely difficult. Just do a lot of research before diving into. I did about 2 months of research before attempting the install. Also, make sure u have plenty of times. Its just nuts and bolts buddy. Hardest part is getting your cam shaft synchronizer lined up, removed, and re installed in the correct position.
