A Decision is Made.

my Sixxer.

Slow, Dented.. Worn out..

I've decided not to waste a penny on making it faster, Or Buying better rims, or really anything that costs more than 100$ a month.. Because its just not worth it, I am going to just save my money, And buy a new edge GT, or maybe even a newer GT. Even though new edge is my favorite.. Maybe even an SN95 GT..

A good man once said something.. well, He typed it.. But he's probably said it before somewhere.

"Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Pick one."

I'm going with Cheap and Reliable.
Anyone got any idea's on making my car super dependable instead of fast?

reliable = maintenence.

synthetic oil and platinum spark plugs. ( you could also do copper but you will want to replace them with every oil change if you do)

if somethin breaks... fix it before it affects anything else.

its just common sense really

Copper is what I ran when I was n/a... boosted = iridium.

well because with syn oil you really only need to do an oil change every 5 or so and copper plugs are good for like 10k miles i think?? and for a set is like 8 bucks.

so technically every other oil change. where as platinum are good for upwards of like 30-50k miles

dont put iridium in though its a damn waste of money!

but seriously i have a stock motor with 170k on it and i change my oil/plugs/filters regularly and it runs like a top!

the only mod is longtube headers which doesnt affect spark/fuel/ or air lol

slap a k&n filter in there and change your oil often sometimes i change mine when it doesnt need it.

hot climate = 10w30
cooler climates = 5w30

also dont fucking baby your car lol that can honestly do more harm than good in most cases.

Oh I dont baby it at all.

I Flat out abuse this poor thing. But it runs GREAT suprisingly. Well.. it only has 100k miles on it, So I cant call it high milage or anything. Lol

Dads car is well maintained just like I did my old car and This Mustang, and his car runs like new with 198k miles on it.

where do you live

edit: it doesnt matter you wanna use 30 viscosity oil anywhere

the first number is what you wanna worry about if you live where it gets really cold at night or in the winter etc use 5w-X

in hot and humid climates use 10w-X oil

thats the rule of thumb. but the owners manual says to use 30 viscosity

and for those of you who dont know..... the W stands for winter

some cars take 0w20 oil now crazyyyy

I've been running Autolite coppers for about 40k miles with numerous oil changes done using synthetic and I have yet to have a problem.

it takes maybe all of 10 minutes... personally i wouldnt run coppers for more than 10k

platinum i would leave in for a while.

maybe its just me but i like to keep things fresh inside the engine especially when it takes little to no effort.

please enlighten me to why you wouldn't run an oe plug for more then 10k miles...i'm at 47k miles and running strong...wanna know when my plugs will get swapped...when i get a misfire. best rule of thumb...don't pay for shit you don't have to

I live in NC the coldest it gets in the winter is like 20* but the hottest is like 100 during the summer. i was gonna put 5w-30 in it next oil change. btw i use castrol gtx high mileage oil every 3k.

yeah good thinkin for the 5w30 since NC is a pretty neutral state it doesnt get boiling and it doesnt get into like sub zero temps. but idk how many miles your car has (not that it really matters) but i would suggest forkin out the couple extra bucks for a full synthetic. and every tech at my shop swears by mobile 1. personally i like pennzoil because autozone always has a sale on it

but the manufacturer recommends 5w30
