Is it bad for your car to have a CAI, 65mm throttle body and stock exhaust?

Hi
I have a 2001 Mustang V6. I currently have a BBK cold air intake, and just purchased a 65mm BBK throttle body. I was told by a friend not to install the throttle body until I get an exhaust because it would be bad for the motor, and would burn more gas.

Does anyone have an opinions on this?

Thanks
-Trevor

both of those parts might net you a whopping 5hp, 10hp if you are lucky. and exhuast might get you 2hp for these cars. so the exhaust isn't that restrictive. you can put the throttle body on it you want. it won't burn more gas. just put more air in. did the person that told you this own a car that has a fart can on it?

The guy who told me has been working on cars for a while, but never a mustang. I guess I'll go ahead and throw on the TB. Thanks!

Also, do you know if the improvement is noticeable after the install?

I bought it off a guy on craigslist for only $130. It was brand new in the box and everything.
I just finished installing it.. actually noticed a better throttle response. I'm happy with the product.

I have a larger TB I picked up for 20 bucks when I was doin' my swap I didn't end up using it, though. I'm saving it for when I install these p&p top end parts.. Ehh, if you can get it for cheap, why not. But for $130, hell no. I wouldn't have bothered! Lol

if you want better throttle response, do the gas pedal mod. it cost me like, 46 cents.
