3rd time in less than 6 months AC problems.
First in march I had my ac fixed. I live in ny, car was driven down to florida. Ford replaced a few valves and added refrigerant. Then a month and a half ago I had to have the ac looked at again. NY ford told me I needed a new compressor. Both times I went was because AC was blowing hot air. Now the AC is not blowing hot air, but it just doesnt get super cold, and I can feel the AC turning on and off intermittently and warmer humid air comes out. I looked at the compressor running, and can see it stop and start, which I was told means there is a leak somewhere or there is not enough refrigerant in the system. What is bugging me besides the fact that this is the 3rd time am going back for a problem that should have been fixed the first time is when I was told I needed a new compressor last month, I noticed the compressor was cycling on and off as well. Either somebody lied to me about needing a new compressor, and the refrigerant was super low or gone, or someone at both fords have missed something that is causing all these problems. I do own a 99 mustang, with 137k miles on it, so yes I expect things to brake down, but I find it too much of a coincidence that this keeps happening. I called ford directly and told them I dont want to pay for a disagnostics fee again, since I paid twice and they told me straight out they won't help me with that. They did however say the dealer may wave the fee, and I am going to demand they do or I wont even get it checked there. If they tell me it is a different problem, I'm not even going to get it fixed there. I'll go somewhere else, because I really don't think I can trust them if they say it is something else. What do you guys think?
