rear main seal leak.

alright... well my rear main seal leaks pretty good.... and i want to replace it.

i work at a dealership and am going to BEG them to let me do it in the shop on my day off. but if i cant i just want to know if anyone has done this on jackstands.

since i have to lower the transmission i am weary to do this in my garage lol

alot of the work i do is on a lift but this time it seems like noone will help me out.

so basically if anyone has done this without a lift then let me know how you did it and if there is anything i should know.

auto trans btw

I had my car up on jack stands.. Remove driveshaft, put a car jack under the tranny (In a spot with good weight distribution), unbolt tranny (Keeping it jacked high enough so it stays wedged to the bottom of the car. Lol).. & do the work. Just be careful, I guess. There are probably easier ways to do it, but I'm not one to sit there and think on things too much

I've always dropped the trans completely so I had room to work. You'll lose some fluid when you disconnect the trans cooler lines, but there is no need to drain the trans.

And I've always worked with jackstands. I wish I had a lift.

Might leak a little out of where the driveshaft goes, but as far as tranny fluid, that's it. And as Tang Stang said, your trans cooler lines since ur an auto

I did it, but I pulled the motor.... And did a ton of other stuff...

Without a lift just take the DS and remove the trans, car on jack stands, and then you have 2 options a.) being a badass and muscling the transmission onto your stomach and then off or b.) transmission jack then r&r and go in reverse
