most everyone who has put hids in stock housing (non hid projector housings) will tell you that the Hi/Lo function makes barely a difference...
Personally, i purchased 35w 6k (non Hi/Lo) and ive never had any issues, and the light output is great

Basically the only difference with the hi/lo beams are the field of view. Brightness is not differentiated between the two.

got the 55w 8k hi/lo ddm slim kit in today.....sweet. mocked up everything hooked up cut on light both ballasts fired up.....freaking sweet. hit the switch to brights hear the magnets click and both lights go out.......fuck. checked all connections the harness they sent only has one oem plugin and is NOT prewired. i checked the site and no clear instructions because the wires they said are red black white(i.e. the old kits) the colors are blue yellow brown and dont match the factory colors. i switched all the wires around and lows came on hit the highs and magnets didnt click lows stayed on. switched again and got lows but no highs. nebody got ne ideas? @6er could possible be the error codes sim u talked about before?

The brown wire is ground, goes in the center.
Don't remember which is which, I think the white is the high beams maybe.
The correct order should be either white, brown, blue or blue brown white.

You could have possibly hooked the ballast connection up backwards. Take them off, flip them around and see if it still goes out.

well the error emilinator will keep it from killing the lights when it overloads the system...so yeah it could be that. or it could be that your power or ground wires aren't as tight as you think they are....when i had a hi/lo kit i had the same issue and i thought my power on the battery was good but someone looked at it and said it needed more contact. so i took off the terminal and bolt...attached a round end on the power wire...slide the bolt for the terminal back on and through the power wires new end and tightened it all back on the battery...worked fine after that
