Mods on my v6?

I have a 2001 v6 automatic coupe with 180 000km on the engine and chassis and aprox. 15 000k on the transmission. Its my daily driver since february and serves me great, but like everybody else that drives a 'stang, i got that modding bug. I already have lots of plans for the interior and the whole look of the car, but i want to work on it performance wise first. Im new to modding a car being as this is only my first car, ever, so i was looking for some advice from you mod vets.

I already know i wanna do the gears and the tlok, but ive heard alot of different things about the gear ratios. i wouldnt be using this car for racing applications, just daily driving, so would i be better off to go with the 3.73's or just go right to the 4.10's? I also want to get a powerpak for my car from super six motorsports, with the cams heads and intake, because i want to avoid the stress on my engine from FI, when i really dont need it. As for the exhaust, what would you guys recommend? Cat back, straight pipe, h, x, y? and as for tuners, handheld, or program chip?
Thanks!

3.73's (For gas mileage purposes), & handheld tuner.. Everything else is a matter of pure opinion that I won't get into the argument for. Lol, well.. I will tell you to cross off the y pipe 'cuz that's what you have now..

gears: depends on it you drive hwy or city most of the time. exhaust H is for a deeper sound, X is for like an extra 1 or 2 hp (maybe). i would recommend long tubes for the exhaust. now you need to know that exhaust you maybe get 5 hp out of it. the cai is useless. just cut off the snorkel off of your intake now and it will have the same sound/performance. just depends on your goals and what the car will be used for and where the car will be used the most.

if I were you id save up for an engine rebuild or swap it with a low-mileage one before anything else, you already have the tranny rebuilt, thats what sux about buying high-mileage cars, you have no idea the life its had beforehand.

Big difference between the factory y-pipe and a good-flowing aftermarket or custom-made unit.

My recommendation is to build the car from the back forward. Tires, suspension, and chassis-bracing will allow you to take better advantage of your existing power and any you find down the road.

Gears will be a good instant-gratification mod. You'll get a good boost by the butt-dyno, and the only cost will be highway mileage (around town you can just cruise in a higher gear; I've heard a number of people see increased city mileage with lower gears).

^^ I agree.. if you have the knowledge, and tools, I would make no plans for a whle week, or take the T to work, and rebuild your entire engine, replacing all gaskets, machine your heads, new coil pack... new pistons, EVERYTHING... well you need money too.. LMAO.. GOOD LUCK

You caught that that was 180k *kilometers*, right? Aka ~112k miles? Motor should have plenty of life left at that mileage.

i saw that, he also said his tranny had 15,000 (K) so i was figuring hes was using k as thousand and just went ahead and said 180,000(thousand) miles. but if his tranny went out at 112,000 miles then that car mustve been driven hard, like real hard
