98' V6 Fuel Pump
This has probably already been a topic of discussion, but I've used the search function and found nothing, and so I'm asking in a thread.
Here lateley(the past 3 months) I've been having to crank my ignition over about 3-8 times to get it to start properly. I think its the fuel pump, but I'll be replacing that and the fuel filter at the same time. The question is this though; does the v8 pump work on the sixxer? I don't want to be out 130$ if it only work son the GT. Also- if theres anyone who knows the best place/price to get one that will work and not break within a few months, link me to that. Another question. this is far from the fuel issue. My hood, resulting from a deer hitting me, flew off a couple months back. I had to buy a new one, and it needs paint. what is the best way to do this? It is dark green(pacific green, i suppose) and I don't enjoy having a rust looking hood. Any tips, links, or pictures will help. AND ANOTHER THING. size of pipes for a v6 to run on duals? I plan on making a self fabbed kit with my dad. Sizes of echos as well is needed. and LASTLY. (By now, you're probably like WTF DUDE, use the search function for these stupid as@#$()* questions) Is it worth it to put 3.73s and tloc in the stock v6 rear end? Wanting to get that going since 1 wheel peel makes my other tire just bald. I want some more traction! and about traction bars, dont need those do I? Thanks in advance, your help is appreciated. |

ok.... i am not sure about the GT fuel pump working on a V6, but i know the fuel pumps from CJ pony parts, or AM are great... In regards to your T-lock or gears.. Go T-lock.. if you going to get both, install both at the same time.. no need to pay for 2 installs.. Or do what i do, and jack her up yourself and go to town.. your chioce... good luck man!

Not really sure about the paint but you might not want to try it yourself unless you have a lot of painting experience. That's a large area and if it's hard to describe the color it will be really hard to match it. Most people say 2.25 or 2.5 inches in diameter for the pipes and no larger than 3". I have 2.25" pipes and they're just fine. If you do both gears and a t-lok do them at the same time, which has been said already. However it depends on how much power you want to make in the future. If you will eventually be making quite a bit more than you are now, then you would be better off getting an 8.8 with gears. If you will stay close to where you are now power wise, then just install them into your 7.5 and it will hold up just fine. The 7.5 is quite a bit lighter as well |

GT doesn't have a bigger pump... It pumps the same volume at the same rail pressure.

Do you know how much the piping would be for the kit? And with the rear end, I doubt I'll end up making more than that. Honestly though, I'm in between on it. I just definitely want a set of matching tires, along with a "working" car that doesn't have fuel problems. |

Oops, my bad. That's pretty interesting that they both pump the same amount though.

Haha you're the one that got a deal! $250 dollars was for the piping alone. Labor and mufflers were another $300

Ouch. Yeah hopefully it wont be that much. But then again, I may just stick with fixing the pump and buying the deep dishes i want. then when i get my spring return for college ill invest 4-5k$ into a GT, put those wheels on there, and start working on it.
