Air conditioning

My ac works just fine at max. Just wondering that when I change it to the direction of the footwell it gets warm and not cold. Is that normal?

in front of compressor. its the thing with 3 blot looking knobs on it. un screw bolt in front wile holding clutch. then clutch plate will come out. then there is a round lock washer you un clip. then pull whole pully off!!!!! takes like 10 min. really. 99 bucks at auto zone.

this is bad advice..

The A/C clutch engages ONLY when the A/C is on A/C or Max A/C. When you put the selector on Vent, the clutch is disengaged as the compressor is not used/needed.

If you change direction to floor or defroster, does it not work? There are other threads regarding this type of failure and it's got nothing to do with the A/C clutch.

EDIT:

You're problem is probably something to due with the vacuum system located in the dash.. I've got a huge headache and don't feel like searching, but here is a thread that might give you some key words to look for a resolution.

A/C won't blow out vent

a/c and heater vents not working!!!

The ac works just fine just wondering if it were meant to blow cold air down to the floor

Yes, it's meant to blow cold air to the floor.. your blender doors are likely the problem. They are controlled by a vacuum system behind the radio / glove box..

You have likely lost the vacuum supply to the blend door(s). I think there are 3, one for defrost, one for main vents and one for the floor but I can't verify that fact. You need to trace the vacuum lines that run from the a/c and heater control unit, out into the engine bay. You either had one break or come out of the nipple"

i have a fix that takes like 10 - 15 seconds. turn fan speed to 1 then turn a/c to vent, then roll both windows down. problem solved.

Im pretty sure the Defroster cycles the AC too. The vent/floor won't use A/C though.

Yeah, I believe you are right.. in order to reduce humidity in the air.
