DD a Turbo or S/C v6?


Hey guys, recently came into a little cash and am debating buying a S/C kit off AmericanMuscle or a turbo kit, but its my DD over the summer, (like 3000 miles a year) but i want the car to last for a while. Any advise or is it worth it? also the car has like 90,000 miles on it

Do a compression test if that comes out good then your fine. There's a few people who DD s/c and turbo 6's with no problems.

i would get a turbo that didn't spool until 2 - 2.5k for a DD so you wont be in boost constantly.

isn't that still a little low? wouldn't it be a little more efficient for a DD with 2.5-3k? especially if you had gears and you cruised at a higher rpm...you wouldn't want your turbo kicked in on the highway and stuff....would you?

Lol there is one person on here that will say it's fine. He will also say he cruises in a vacuum constantly. If your just running like 8 psi your fine.

it just depends on how you drive. i have a manual with stock gears and i shift at 2k so i would like mine to spool around 2.5k and when i am on the highway i don't go over 2k rpm. it just depends on mods and how you drive.

yeah, i understand. i usually shift between 2 and 2.5 so yeah that makes sense, but definitely go with a turbo OP

you can drive a turbo without fully spooling it...
the supercharger will be a much easier bolt on, the turbo will require much more work though. if you just want some bolt on power go supercharger.

just looking for alot more power for fun, nothing like serious racing and shit. Id look into a m90 or m112 supercharger. Lots of torque

You would have to get a stock turbo off something, or a t25/28 ish turbo to try fully try and spool one by 2.5k.

You can stay in vac running 30psi.

Id have it tuned to spool around 2.8k so you can shift around 2.5k around town and yet you still have alot of rpm to run with while spool'd.

i was looking at a m90 for a S/C but idk what i would do for a turbo... would i run it at the Y pipe or?
