crazy squeak. please help driving me insane
Alright I already took off my belt and inspected it, all good. Spun all my pulleys and they're fine. Started it for a few seconds without the belt and it still squeaked. Wtf is wrong with my car now? There's a video but I can't figure out how to put it on here cause I'm on my phone since my computer broke. All I can tell you is look up "iamtheultimate" and its in my uploads about 2003 mustang engine squeak. If someone can put it on here that'd be much appreciated

it seriously sounds like something is on the belt somewhere and it makes the noise as its going past or around a certain pulley. the time between squeeks is practically the same not constant.

Its an auto. And it squeaked even with the belt completly off

It gets faster with rpm. Engine temp doesn't matter it picks and chooses when it does it. It comes and goes but is getting worse. I've heard it driving down the road a couple times.

My car is doing almost the same thing. I was told it was my idle pulley bearings going out.

Don't think it could be any pulley. It did it without the belt on lol. At least that is a cheap fix

It is not belt/pulley related. Get a stethoscope and prod around the engine and try to pinpoint the general area.

I can't view the video here at work, but from your description, I'm betting the cam sensor stalk is the source of your squeak.

It takes all of ten minutes to replace it.
More Information for DORMAN 689100 I've never heard a timing chain squeak.

I tried googling how to replace it but nothing is coming up for me. Someone help me out w sensor shaft? It sounds easy and id do it if it makes the stupid squeak lol. Idk where it even is

It's right in the front center of your engine, you can't miss it. Look at your crank pully and let your eyes wander up & to the left a smidgen. You'll find it.

Well, when you buy a new cam sensor stalk, pick up a repair manual (Chilton's, Haynes, or whatever). It'll give you step by step instructions.

If the part comes with the tool, then by all means, buy the manual. Actually, I'll just look at mine and type it up for you. It's not that long, if I remember right..
