need help car wont start

Was cleaning the car with the radio on, i finished up and went to put car in garage. Turn the key and click. car wont start. i checked the car terminals, took em off cleaned em reconnected the battery, click. i noticed the theft light would blink once when i turned the key back to off. When i had my door open, and tried to turn the car on the dome light would flash on and off repeatedly. i also noticed that when the key is in on, i can move the auto through gears with out touching the brake.... i hooked up my aunts explorer, thought it was possibly bad battery, waited a bit and turned the key and click.

battery is dead. Try jumping it and see if it'll turn on.

Wrong, i just swapped the battery out with my uncles and nothing.

I should be clear on the head lights. If i disconnect the battery and reconnect it. and if i turn the key to the on position, but not start. everything works until you try to start the car. after you attempt that, the car goes into a safe mode i think to where noting works.

dont have another key, but i routed a ground wire from the battery (neg) to a bolt that hold the alternator to the bracket and the car started right up. im thinking i just bypassed the system though... once i take the wire off, the same problem occurs.

No its the security system my uncles car had the same probably back in April when you go straight from the battery to the starter you bypass the security system, without another key I don't know how to fix the problem without going to Ford

So I was able to get the car started and got it to a shop. Had to run a ground wire from the neg battery to a bolt that hold the altenator to the bracket. So I had the shop run a diagnostics test for me.. Two codes came back. Don't remember the codes but the first was for a bad transceiver( four wires that run from the ignition to the pats system are malfuncioning) and the second was for the key. The guy at the shop said the transeiver is a common issue on mustangs if they won't run.
