Crappy Headlights
I am seeking sites/locations in which to buy QUALITY headlight assemblies. Tired of the usual fogging, cracking, sealing and just plain crappy looks. Any and all advice as far as where and what kind/brand will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I bought mine on ebay (I think the seller's name was "wholesale headlights" or something to that effect). I recommend keeping things simple and going with black housing OEM headlights. If you want something slightly different, I still recommend that but with clear corners. Just remember, no matter where you get your headlights you should always seal them (all the way around) with some RTV silicone. If you don't, chances are they will get moisture in them.

So what your saying is that no matter how expensive, cheap, brand, maker or purchase location (or site). They are going to get moisture in them if they are not sealed. I was thinking that maybe there was a quality brand out there somewhere that wouldn't require the additional sealant. I guess in this arena the "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply?

Some companies (probably most actually) seal the headlights when they're produced, but I wouldn't trust the sealing job they did at a factory. A tube of RTV silicone is like $4 and it takes maybe 5 minutes of your time to apply the sealant (plus drying time). Some people will tell you that you do get what you pay for, but I bought my headlights on ebay for $80 shipped (they were $130 shipped on AM). I sealed them up when they arrived (I could see sealant in the crack between the 2 halves of the housing, but I made sure no moisture was getting in), installed them, and nearly 2 years later there is no visible moisture in my headlights. And that is after spending 2 years in Iowa winters (one winter without a garage). Aside from a few rock scratches from gravel roads, my headlights look almost brand new.

Pre Seal FTW. I didn't and wasted over 100 bucks on new headlights. Like Mcqueen said don't take a chance.
