both are fucking heavy ... if 30-70 more lbs is a big deal to you then fucking starve youself and lose it so you dont add so much to the car
![]() 8.8's are usually easy to come by, for not a bad price. Already have a LSD in them, which you would have to buy for the 7.5. Then if you want a different gear ratio, gotta buy that for either. Then you better buy a bearing kit if oyur gonna change shit inside. And if you buy an 8.8 and do all that, might as well buy a new clutch pak. ... either is gonna cost you. Personally, the fact of having an 8.8 is more comforting. Though im only running 227hp ... And honestly, why worry about weight if you buy rims other then drag rims that are light as shit. And remove all the extra weight in your car like back seat, spare tire, power steering, A/C, passenger seat, console, stereo system, etc etc ... Personally I think to many people here make a big deal about the added weight of an 8.8 ... Unless you going ballz out with the car to make a pure drag racer out of it, wtf does it matter ? If you have a 31 spline, full suspension, slicks, skinnies, full weight reduction, roll bars, and a shit ton of power to back it up, then you can talk about power to weight ratio my vent for the day thank you |

its kinda funny, seeing 300lb guys get out of the drag car ... talk about weight reduction ... you wonder why horse racers hire a jockey that weights 110lbs @ 5'1''

Ya it sounds like 7.5 would be easier but if it can break on stock power...

yes i have an 8.8 now w/ 3.73s
Very happy with it. Im not gonna say dont go with the 8.8, nor the 7.5. Either will be good for you. But know how mods are and how they make you want more and more, you'll end up adding more power most likely. And power means hormones, hormones mean you drive like a nut lol driving like a nut can = bad things lol But I bet I could break this 8.8 right now if I wanted to, and ive got as much power as a stock GT ... |
