LT install help!

Hey guys my pacesetter LT's came in the mail two nights ago and im going to install them tommorow, any advice from you guys with LT's? Ive gone to every shop within 30 miles from me and not one will touch them so im stuck doing it myself, it'll be a good learning experience i guess so anyway any advice would be great, i planned on installing them and then using a flex pipe until i get to my friends house with a welder that can weld the piping in for me, sound good? Thanks in advance

I had to disconnect the drivers side steering shaft to get the header up there.
The job is a lot easier if you have a friend to help.

+1 invest in a friend. if u have no friends invest in beer and they will come.

just be patient try finding a lift. u can do it on the ground under jack stands but it blows. they arent going to slide up there in place. took me 6 hrs start to finish and i have to remove all of the stock exhaust. autos require trimming the trans to fit. possible steering shaft disconnect. i didnt have too if u do discoonect it make sure the steering wheel doesnt move. egr tube is a bitch unless u delete it. had to cut a $20 wrench to tighten it up

sidenote: i dont know if a tuner is required for lt's but the oxygen sensors do move farther downstream so the reading will be different than stock. also u will need O2 extenders for the front O2 sensors and if u run the rear ones u will need them too.

this is what i used as a guide

longtube install v6

Don't have to trim the trans with mac longtubes. And I used a small plumbers wrench to tighten the egr. I did it on jackstands, took maybe 5 hours

you guys are making this hard :p

atleast in my 04 it was pretty simple. Driver side LT went down from the top pretty easy.
Passenger side needs to come up from the bottom. So jack the SOB up high. Now I cheated and didn't have my engine bolted down, so I jacked it up about 2 inches and made that passenger side ALOT easier. Have problems with it ? I suggest you take off the two nuts on the motor mounts and jack the engine up a little bit !

And yes friends make it alot easier !

BTW you do know that pacesetters need to be repainted dont you ?

They dont come with high temp paint on them ...

You dont have to paint, but it sure makes things nicer if you do
