Jobra wont stay running...just happen 1 hr ago?


Hey guys its me again! lol 5 days ago i replaced my fuel pump with a 255 high pressure pump. car was running GREAT! iMy wife and i pick up my boy and take him tho the Dr.s'. When we leave jobra started fine then 30 seconds later it died? then started back up.....Died. finnaly after 6-8 tried we made it back to the apts??!!!

What i have did was;
1. opened the air intake (right before the MAF) and as the engine tried to die i put my fingers across intake and kinda spread'em. the engine liked that? little high pitched noises from MAF and after it dies theres other little noises. My fuel psi is good. its getting gas...why do ya think i can mess with intake and adjust the ratio my self? and why did this just happen outta nowhere?

Ran for a second...thought i heard a little thump and it ran fine....started around complex..no power bogged every thime i pressed gas?.. then had to put around complex back to mine . so again here what it is doing!!!

po190 would be fuel pressure on the rail error if your getting that code.

Fuel filter?? again? i did install a new pump maby i need a new filter because of new deb-re?

where can i find a diagram of vac layout? 98 3.8l ? what do ya think about the fuel filter?

If it wasn't doing it before the fuel pump install, but its doing it now, then I would recheck the fuel pump, its connectors, and lines inside the hat. What fuel pump did u put in?

See thread before this one on my profile. my problem was the fuel pressure it was pushing 30-35 psi. After i installed walbro 225 pump everything was perfect and had more power. I started it this morning fine!! haven't drove it yet

How Could it be?.. I started jobra this morning and let it run and though hmmm, got in drove around complex and tried to die when i accelerate but sounds like running outa gas, eng almost not even turning BUT eng turning like 3k rpm ish.


Got back to parking place and started again. it bobbled to ok idle. when given gass it starts to lagg out.

I started tapping on little things, EGR, TPS, lil throtal valve canister thingy in back. Engine Didnt sound much different idle than before tapping, but i hit the gas and it ran. Drove it around complex (after Video) and had 100% power??!! WTF?

I have a back up, lol

96 Dakota 2.8l flat black costumed lights 10' lift in back, stock front height, lol. its a toy! but reliable!

So....I guess i'm going to put old fuel filter back on to see if that is my problem....
<the pump i bought was walbro 225 high pressure fuel pump>

* DO you think too much pressure can cause this?

* Car starts every time, so pressure is there and pump hums. Also wouldn't i throw a code like stated above?

if yoiu can blow through the fuel filter its fine.
that pump wont cause that.
if it does it again spray the vacuum connections with some brakekleen or something similar. if the idle changes you found your leak.
im pretty sure its vacuum or electrical related. is there a lot of squirrels out there? maybe one tried to nest in your car at some time and chewed up some wires.

LOL, I can fiddle with the air intake right before maf, if i restrict air flow a little i can keep eng running!!! if left open it dies?

Got a CEL!!!! havnt read it yet (wont stay started to drive)

It happen i guess when i was reving eng with my fingers spread over air intake.

getting a voltage meter todaya and testing every thing...

I thiink...
A. Stator(PIP sensor)
B. M.A.F.
C. ECM (im going to tap it wile running!!!)

car starts everytime but won't stay running?!
