Power Trac

i was watching "Horse Power TV" and they were modding a 95 Mustang GT.
They were talking about the posi trac, but they used a (what they called) a Power Trac. They said it spins both tires in a straight line, but only uses one for cornering and turning. anyone know where i can get one. or if uv got opions on it plz tell me.

First off, Posi Trac is a GM name for their Limited Slip differential. It makes me chuckle when the guys on tv use these names loosely. Ford calls theirs a Traction Lock. I think Power Trac is also a GM name. It sounds like they were describing a True Trac differential, which is a geared, torque multiplier.

well upgraded might be the wrong word, after market would be better.

so what your saying is that a t-lok is basically the same. so if i buy a t-loc im good. ive got a guy that can install for free (close friend). another question, if i get it will it make both back tires spin all the time, or not.

mot all the time when you take a turn one wheel will spin slower than the other and such, if you want one where both tires turn the same speed all the time you need a locked dif. which isn't a good idea for street driving.

I checked into a power trax before going with the Detroit Truetrac. Richmond makes them and they basically are installed in an open 8.8" diff. Fairly affordable but I hadn't heard of anyone running them so I decided to pass. More info here http://www.powertrax.com/noslip.html
