Mac Longtube outlet size? Need for H-pipe build

I know that the primaries are 1 5/8, but what I am looking for is the size that will attach to the H-pipe I am going to have built. I need to order my cats but am not sure if I should go with 2.25" or 2.5" inlet/outlet.

Also, for anyone who has had a H-pipe made what size did you go with, the 2.25 or 2.5? Just curious.

Thanks for the help (and I did search just to let you guys know. )

That is right!!!! I had it all mixed up in my head. I kept thinking that the primaries were what was coming out of the block!! (that would be some flow uhh!!)

I guess what my question should be is do most people do 2.25 when they have to build a H-pipe, or 2.5. ( I know the Mac offroad one is a 2.5) Just curious.

Thanks.

depends on your future plans if you are gonna role with a stock engine or full bolt ons go with 2.25 if you plan on super charging 2.5 will do or even 3 if you plan on running huge boost

Awesome. The 2.25 is what I was planning on using most likely to keep the backpressure. Thank you for your input.

still n/a and will probably stay that way. starting college in a couple months and need to save the money to be living on my own...

2.5 is fine for 200hp applications. you can prepare for more power by running mandrel bent 2.5" stainless pipes...

Thanks for all the help and the fast replies.

Are there any tricks I should be aware of for the install? I already ordered o2 extenders because I have read that it just makes it easier than trying to extend the stock ones.

in a way.. because the smaller the pipes the harder it has to force the air through so IMO it sounds better with 2.25s but if you go too small on the piping too it will sound like shiizz
