How to remove tape on scoop

its on by 3m tape, how can i remove it?

Heat it up with a hair dryer, and carefully pull it off

i dont want to damage the paint around or under it, how would i do that? heat it too close/much and take it off too fast?

your heating up the tape. paint will take a lot of heat before it scrapes off.

that's the only thing i'd leave on it....just for the fact that if you do damage the paint you're effed....also depending on how long it's been there the paint will have a nice difference

about 2~ years

paint difference cant be too much?

i mean its made for automotive so id hope it wouldnt damage the paint

He means, the sun bakes the car...the scoop is covering part of your car so that paint will be lighter...leave it on.

i understand, but i want to sell the scoop, and id prefer it off when i sell the vehicle

Then heat it up with a hair dryer (its not going to hurt it) and slowly pry it off (not with a screwdriver) the tape will loosen with a little heat

You won't be able to sell the scoop for much I don't think. I'd be willing to bet the difference in what you got for the car bought privately / trade-in value would be a bigger margin than the amount of side cash you'll get from selling the scoop.

i dont want to jinx my sale or whatever on the scoop but im getting a pretty good deal for it, and it would look weird on the car once i swap wheels and probably remove the chin spoiler? i might put the oem fuel door back on, but ill have to repaint it because i used it to test touch up paint on

Is leave it on man, rather than risk damaging paint getting it off. As previously stated the paint underneath will be effected and there will most likely be some sort of mark where the scoop was
