The Clueless Performance Shop and my V6 Stang

So I went to this performance shop today to order and get an estimate on install for an x pipe and flowermaster exhaust for my v6 mustang. And to make a long story short...they've never heard of putting a new midpipe on a v6 mustang and they told me that every midpipe and exhaust system in their catelogs would not reach the stock short headers and that if i wanted to get a new midpipe with new exhaust...that it would be a custom job or i would have to pay all this extra money for new headers.

All i want is a new midpipe rather than stock y and some new mufflers and as far as i have been reading over forums for months, people have been doing this with ease...can someone help me out here...

i'm going to go by another shop tomorrow, one that specializes in mustangs to see what they can tell me...is it or is it now easy with a reasonable price to replace the stock midpipe and mufflers.?

so, what you have to do is cut off right after the cats? and weld an x pipe on there in replacement?

dude stock exhaust manifolds are the same length as shorty header....the only hard part is finding an x pipe that will reach your exhaust manifold

tell them to put the car on a lift and tell them to do this

point to the two pipes coming out of the cats... say i want you to cut them right infront of those... run an H pipe right about ... here and point to where your current Y pipe is ... then say finish it out with some 2.5 or 3 inch tips right about here... and point to the ass end of your car
