Ever heard of this?

Have you ever heard of a thermostat putting a lot of pressure inside the coolant system causing anti freeze to place pressure on other gaskets because the thermostat doesn't have a by pass valve?

i was reading some where and i saw that and figured thats what happened to my car cuz it was fine before i installed the thermo and then after i did the lower rear main goes... which didn't even have signs of leaking

what the fuck ... ... and go, discuss

When my smoke problem first started I thought it was coolant and a shop checked to see if it was coolant leaking outta somewhere, so it could be possible...I'm not sure tho

Unless you had a blown head gasket and your coolant system was leaking pressure into the oil galleys I can't see the connection between a thermostat replacement causing your rear main seal to go....

I didn't really find anything suggesting that in the link you posted either.....

yeah I readed that.. in rpmoutlet too it says its better getting a lower temp thermostat or something but idk it could say that so that ppl would buy it

well the low temps are better... i have one in and after i did the swap they car started acting up... im smelling burning coolant and the lower rear main goes out...

but i found a shop to work on my car... finally

and also read is the past tense for read... go figure... so you don't need another ed on the end of read... you helped me with spanish ill help you with english : P

thanx lol puertorican english is a lil different a puertorican almos always puts ed in the past tense of words so sometimes u write "writed" instead of "wrote" sometimes i forget that... but well is a lil error

well idk it could be that the thermostat put ins a lot of pressure but in the other side it would be very very stange to happen personally its the first time that I heard that happening not sure thougth.
