fuel leak.....

so i took my upper intake manifold off to get to a fitting or two i had to tighten down that was starting to leak a tad bit of coolant......in the process i think i may have bumped the fuel rail....and now the one fuel injector where it meets the fuel rail is spraying gas everywhere.....help? please?

First turn the pressure from your fuel tank off.
Disconnect the injector, and take it out, and inspect it for any damage, and inspect your fuel rail for any damage.

Re-install the injector. Hopefully it was just knocked loose a bit, and that can fix that. Try that to start off. Also remember to get pressure from your fuel back too.

If that doesn't work come back to us, but start off small.

If the above doesn't work, try replacing the o-ring that seals the injector into the rail. Use some oil on the o-ring to lubricate it.

I would replace the metal clip since you said it seemed to sit in there crooked. Also you might replace the o-ring and check for any damage to the fuel rail, such as a scratch in the area where the o-ring seals. If it was spraying fuel I would say it just wasn't in there square and replacing the metal clip would help to align it better.

You might get the clip off a wrecking yard car, or perhaps it will still seat OK without it.

I guess try putting it back in and see what happens.
